ABOUT Bette Bentley

Bette Bentley is the Founder, Inventor, and CEO of Skimpies, a Los Angeles–based feminine care and essentials brand built around organic cotton. She created the brand in 2020 after becoming fed up with the lack of breathable, no-panty-line underwear suitable for leggings, inventing the first liner designed to stick directly into the seam of a pair of leggings. Before founding Skimpies, Bentley was a comedy writer in Hollywood, working with talents including Will Ferrell and producing digital comedy content that garnered billions of views online — a performance background that proved ideal training for live selling. She officially launched the brand in September 2024 and grew it to $10 million in first-year sales primarily through organic TikTok Shop live selling, becoming a No. 1 brand on the platform without spending on paid ads, before closing a $1 million seed round in early 2026 to fuel further growth.

About Skimpies

Born out of a founder's personal frustration — and a remarkable act of resilience — Skimpies is a women's underwear brand designed to solve the everyday problem of breathable, no-panty-line undies for leggings wearers. Launched in 2024 by a former Hollywood comedy writer turned LA mom, the brand went from a TikTok-first startup to a viral sensation, earning a spot on the Inc. Female Founders 500 list and a presence in TJ Maxx and Marshalls nationwide.
